Our Gymnastics Team performed at the county finals in Chelmsford this weekend! It was a great competition, well attended with lots of talented gymnasts. The team also got to watch a special performance from Nicole, the current British Gymnastics champion! A big thank you to Mrs Huggins and Mrs Davey for their commitment to the team!
Year 3 have been mummifying tomatoes this week! They followed a set of instructions to complete the process, and then made their own instructional video!

In their music lessons with Dan The Music Man, Year 6 have been composing their own music and having a go at playing the piano!
Year 3 have had an absolute blast making volcano models this week.
Our annual Flower Festival was terrific. Thank you to all the families who donated flowers. As you can see they were really appreciated.
Year 3 have been working very hard on their art skills and have produced some amazing work which will be on display at St Andrews church as part of the flower festival. Please go along and take a look if you can.
We are hosting a Cancer Research UK Race of Life relay race for parents and children after Sports Day, 4th July.
On 30th June, our Multi-schools representatives ran a ‘Penalty Shoot Out’ stall at Market Fields School in Elmstead.

A great assembly by Year 5 on Friday. They have learned so much about local history and the mills - thanks to Jim Davis from Halstead Museum.

Something strange and wonderful happened on the playing field at Richard de Clare School on Monday evening. The trees began to grow books from their branches!
To take advantage of this, the current Reception children and children starting in September were invited to come and explore the forest of books and share them with their families.
Parents and children had a great time sharing their favourite stories or exploring new books. They even discovered a fairy garden and teddy bears’ picnic hidden amongst the trees.
As part of our ongoing E-Safety education Key Sage 2 pupils were visited this week by "The 2 Johns" from E Safety Training. They explored pupils attitudes to staying safe online and practical tips to ensure their safety.
Our last full day began with rain and it looked like the weather was going to try and spoil our fun, but not so. After a brief shower the sun came out through the clouds and everyone warmed up.
We awoke to find that the rain had gone, but it was still quite windy. Nonetheless the children were raring to go after another good nights sleep and a big breakfast.
